He has authored over 200 books. He is a much sought after teacher, known for his sincerity, humor and ability to inspire his students.

This innovative workshop emphasizes content, and will teach you how to infuse meaning into your paintings.

Design will be dealt with as a component of content.

In the workshop, Gerald Brommer will discuss color, mood, placement of subject, while helping you maintain your personal expression.

The watercolors on this page show you his expert handling of the same subject to create different paintings.

These examples demonstrate that creative use of compositional elements can result in dynamically different paintings.

Gerald Brommer will encourage you to work with the following considerations in mind.

  • What do you want to share with viewers when they look at your work?

  • How does the subject make you feel?
  • Why are you painting it in the first place?
  • What do you want to say in your paintings?

These, and other similar questions, will form the basis for this workshop in discussions, as well as the work that you will create.

The overriding goal of this workshop, is to help you achieve freedom of expression. You will learn how to edit resource materials to help you convey your ideas in your paintings.

So if you love painting landscapes, or just working with design and compositional challenges, this is a terrific workshop to participate in. Please note that Gerald Brommer Workshop 1 is distinctly different from Gerald Brommer Workshop 2.
